eSafety

eSafety (or Online Safety) is a significant concern. We recognise the advantages of technology and access to digital devices. However, we also recognise the risks and challenges that out pupils and sometimes families face.

At Abbey Hill, developing our digital opportunities for our pupils is a key school priority. With this, we are passionate about supporting Abbeyhillians to understand how to safely and positively use the internet.

eSafety sits within our PSHE and Computing curriculums. It is also part of our assemblies, personal development work and the support we offer to families.

We share the weekly Wake up Wednesday Newsletters to help Abbeyhillian families talk with and support their Abbeyhillians at home.

There is lots of other useful guidance from previous Wake Up Wednesdays here:

Internet Matters - Wikipediainternetmatters.org have produced a very useful series of leaflets to support Internet Safety and Wellbeing. We have gathered some which we feel may be useful here. However, the full library can be accessed clicking on the icon.
